Thermo King of Long Island was founded by Mike Rudnick in 1985 in Amityville, NY. Our first service vehicle was an old 1964 Volkswagen Beetle that was just big enough to carry some tools and basic supplies but only with the passenger seat pulled out. The Beetles hood proved handy – it served as a raised platform to repair trailer units. Today, Thermo King of Long Island employs 21 staffers, including an outside sales manager, a service manager, a host of Thermo King Certified Technicians and administrative support. After 23 years, Thermo King of Long Island has evolved into Long Island's leading provider of temperature control systems for the transportation industry, and awarded the 2002 Northeast Region Dealer of the Year by Thermo King Headquarters in Minneapolis.
